Let your AI agents pay for things, without losing control of the money.
Stipend is the control plane for AI agent payments on the XRP Ledger. Every agent gets a policy-governed wallet; every x402 payment is authorized in real time and settled in RLUSD, with a full audit trail.

Ramp + Stripe for autonomous agents.
The rails exist.
The trust doesn’t.
x402 lets agents pay on-chain in seconds. But no finance team will hand an autonomous agent an open wallet, and that’s what keeps agentic commerce stuck in demos.
No spend limits
An agent in a loop can drain a wallet in minutes. There’s no native cap per call, per day, or in total.
No counterparty control
Nothing stops an agent from paying the wrong, or a malicious, endpoint. No allowlists, no policy.
No reconciliation
Thousands of sub-cent machine payments, zero way for finance to tie them back to the books in dollars.
Four steps from agent to settled payment.
Every payment is routed through the same four checks before money moves.
Issue
Each agent gets its own XRPL wallet, funded in RLUSD, with a policy attached.
Authorize
Every x402 request is checked against budget, rate, counterparty, and category, in milliseconds.
Settle
Approved payments settle in RLUSD on XRPL in 3–5 seconds at predictable, sub-cent cost.
Reconcile
Every payment streams to a dashboard and exports to finance, in dollars, not hashes.
Watch the policy engine authorize agent payments.
A simulation of Stipend’s real-time authorization layer. Send payment requests from an AI agent and see them approved, held, or declined against policy.

Approvals settle in about 4s on XRPL · over-threshold payments pause for human sign-off · off-allowlist payments are blocked
A working proof of concept on XRPL testnet.
Our PoC settles real transactions on the XRP Ledger testnet: policy-gated, on-chain, verifiable.
The same policy logic shown in the demo runs against the live testnet: it issues agent wallets, authorizes each x402 payment, settles approved ones on-chain in RLUSD/XRP, and writes an audit log with transaction hashes you can open in a block explorer.
Built on Ripple’s XRPL AI Starter Kit (x402 + RLUSD), shipped June 2026.
--- Agent: GET /price/XRP (1.20 → api.marketdata) --- x402 402 Payment Required APPROVED → settled tesSUCCESS on-chain explorer: testnet.xrpl.org/transactions/76863D… --- Agent: POST /gpu-job (9.50 → compute.gpu) --- DECLINED: exceeds per-payment cap of 5.00 Summary: 4 attempts → 2 settled, 2 blocked.
The agent economy is here, and it needs guardrails.
